“Integrity
means wholeness. It is the result of being in alignment
with 'who you truly are' - living your values, accepting
responsibility for all that occurs in your life,
and being clear of what has occurred in the past.”

Greetings!
The
word "integrity" seems to be the buzz word around
our house lately.
It was a major deciding point in a very hard life decision
I made earlier this month. (Which is part of the reason
for the lateness of this newsletter. My apologies!) My husband
is also dealing with the integrity issue at his work. Needless
to say, we have had many lively discussions on the topic
during the past couple of months.
So
it seemed fitting to pass along a few insights to you as
we begin this new year. Knowing who you are and what you
stand for is essential for success and fulfillment, and
for making this year the BEST Year of Your Life!
Many
blessings! Enjoy the rest of the issue.

Becky

If you would like personal support on your path as we begin
this new year, please let me know. I am here for you.
Integrity
is our personal inner gauge of right and wrong. We decide
it for ourselves and we each have our own level of integrity.
As we evolve and grow as individuals, our integrity window
tends to get smaller, making it more and more difficult
to step out of alignment with our fundamental essence.
To live
in integrity means that you are living the Truth of Who
You Are. It means that you honor your own levels of right
and wrong with every choice you make every hour of every
day. It also means that you take responsibility for your
life. It is where personal development begins.
If you
are unhappy or dissatisfied with some part of your life,
“taking responsibility” means looking within
to discover the “why,” instead of blaming circumstances
or other people. It involves looking at the choices you
make each day and seeing how they are out of alignment with
what is right for you.
Where
are you out of integrity?
When
you are living in integrity – making decisions based
on what works for you and what makes you feel good –
life flows smoothly. Living
out of integrity – making decisions that do not honor
your own internal levels of right and wrong – brings
stress to your life.
For
instance, if you value family, yet spend most of your evenings
working late each week, you are not living in a way that
upholds your value. It takes energy to keep up this inner
/ outer inconsistency. And that causes stress.
Look
at the places in your life where you are out of integrity.
Are you clear about your values? Do your actions reflect
those values? What do you need to be doing that you are
not paying attention to? At the end of the day, do you feel
good about the decisions you made and the things you did
and said?
When
you live in integrity, you are clear about your values and
you take personal responsibility to ensure that your behaviors
reflect those values.

Deeper, Reach Higher
Are
You Clear On Your Values?
Your
values and ideals form the foundation of who you are. They
are part of the internal roadmap that guides your decisions
and behaviors. They can be conscious or they can be unconscious.
Being
conscious and clear about what you value is critical for
success and fulfillment in life. Not being clear leaves
you prey to the wants and whims of other people.
Sometimes
the best way to begin assessing what your values are is
to look at what they are NOT. Here are some guidelines to
keep in mind from my friend and colleague, Kathy Wilson
(www.under-one-roof.net):
If you need it to be happy, it’s a need not a value.
If you’re doing it to get something else, it’s
not a value.
If you want it, but it doesn’t come easily, it’s
a should.
If you feel uncomfortable when you do it, it’s not
your value.
If you feel righteous or ethical when you are doing it,
it’s a moral.
If you are following rules, they are principles.
If you wish you had it or had more of it, it’s not
a core life value.
Below
are a list of values and ideals to get you started. Add
more of your own. Choose your top 10. Then look at your
life to see where you ARE and ARE NOT staying true to these
values.

It
Doesn't Matter Where You've Been. What Matters Is
