Happy
people know that love is the first step toward happiness
– first, loving someone else and second, being
loved.
2.
Happy
people look at life optimistically. They know that the
upsetting experiences in our lives hold lessons, and
that often the more painful the experience, the more
profound the lesson.
3.
Happy
people know that courage is a product of the spirit,
the intellect, and the higher emotions of love and generosity.
They use courage to rise above fear.
4.
Happy
people have a sense of freedom. They know that freedom
is choice and choice is what makes us human, and that
we define who we are by our choices.
5.
Happy
people are proactive. They participate in their own
destinies and forge their own happiness.
6.
Happy
people know that security is an inside job. They like
who they are and this frees them from slavery to popularity,
longevity, or financial status.
7.
Happy
people know that happiness and health are interdependent.
They know it’s hard to be happy if you don’t
feel healthy, but also that it’s hard to be healthy
if you’re not happy.
8.
Happy
people know how to let go. They welcome extraordinary
experiences and allow themselves to step beyond the
boundaries of their lives.
9.
Happy people know the value of altruism, and understand
how it connects you to others, gives you a purpose,
and gets you outside yourself.
10.
Happy
people know how to distinguish small problems from big
ones. They don’t lose site of life’s big
picture during the bad times.
11.
Happy
people know how to laugh. They realize humor gives people
the guts to go on when life looks its worst.
12.
Happy
people have a purpose. They know why they’re here
on earth and are actively involved in doing the things
they were meant to do.

Greetings!
As you can see, I'm still experimenting with the format
for this newsletter. My purpose is to make it a quick read
and provide food for thought as you go about your day.
This
format is a modified version of the very first
issue. After toying with the new format (see
last issue), I decided this one is easier to put together.
I would
love to hear your feedback. Which version to you like the
most? Is the content relivant? Would you rather just have
the information as a text email without having to click
to a web link?
I'd really appreciate your comments. Just send
an email with your thoughts.
Enjoy
the rest of the issue!

Describe
some experiences when this quality came into play?
Were
there times when you wish you'd had more of this quality?
How would it have made a difference?
What
are some ways you can increase this quality in your life?
If you'd like to
share any insights from this exercise, I'd love to hear
back from you.
