“Follow
effective action with quiet reflection. From the
quiet reflection will come even more effective action.”

Greetings!
I hope,
in all the busyness of this season, that you are taking
care of your self - getting enough rest, exercise, and healthy
food (along with all the "goodies")!
And
most important - I hope you are giving yourself time to
do some inner reflecting. As Mr Marcel's words remind us,
the best way to be more effective in what we do is to give
ourselves time to "reflect" on those actions.
If you
are feeling stressed in any way during this holiday season,
I encourage you to listen to the podcast episode, "10
Tips to Reduce Holiday Stress." It is about 11
minutes and features tips gathered from the collective wisdom
of my readers who shared their thoughts in a recent survey.
You can find it here:

Be
sure to check out the What's Happening section for a glimpse
of a new podcast coming in January!
Also,
please know that I am here for you. If you would like personal
support on your path as we transition into a new year, I
would love to talk with you.
Winter
is a time of going inward…. animals hibernate, plants
go dormant, the days get shorter and colder, and we humans
are more inclined to stay indoors.
So,
as we come to this final month of 2007, I thought a few
reflective questions might be in order.
Pour
yourself a glass or mug of your favorite beverage, grab
a pen and paper or journal, get comfy, and take some time
to reflect on you and your life…..
What
were your greatest accomplishments in 2007?
What
were your greatest challenges or lessons?
What
brought you the most joy and happiness?
If
you could change anything from last year, what would it
be and why?
Today
was “someday” five years ago. Did you achieve
what you promised yourself you would “someday”?
What would need to happen for 2008 to be the best
year of your life so far?
Another
part of winter and, to me, the nugget of truth behind this
celebratory season for all religions, is the promise of
“light”…. The promise that even in our
darkest times, we are not alone, there is hope. Spring,
the season of rebirth and renewal will come.
In this
promise of light is also the reminder that you, me, all
of us have a spark of that Divine Light within us. It’s
just a matter of letting it out!
Take
some time this month to do some inner reflecting so that
you’ll be ready to “shine” in 2008!
"REFLECTION:,
n. An action of the mind whereby we obtain a clearer view
of our relation to the things of yesterday and are able
to avoid the perils that we shall not again encounter."

Happy
Seeds are Coming!
Happy
thoughts create happy results;
Unhappy
thoughts create unhappy results. It's
your choice... What
does your garden grow?
There
was a time in my life, about mid-1980, when I was
really struggling to get my life in some kind of order.
I had just gotten out of unhappy marriage # 2 and
was searching for meaning in life and a true understanding
of who the heck the REAL "Becky" was!
During
that time of extreme inner reflection (there's that
word again!), I discovered Catherine Ponder's book,
Divine Laws of Prosperity, which is filled
with wonderful positive affirmations and prayers.
Determined
to get out of the muck and change my life, I got some
3 x 5 index cards and typed (yes, with a real old-fashioned
typewriter) all the quotes from her book that I had
highlighted. (I used up a whole package!) Then, I
read through those cards everyday for about a year.
I
came across the file box I kept them in a few months
ago and remembered how much doing that simple act
everyday had changed my life.
It
was a way of "seeding" and planting positive,
uplifting thoughts in my mind, and an example that
"change your thoughts, change your life"
is indeed a true phenomenon!
Happy Seeds, coming January 1, 2008 is based
on this premise. It will be a short daily podcast
featuring one of the many quotes I've collected over
the years. I'll give a few thoughts of my own and
a tip or exercise for you to ponder/do during the
day. It will also have a journal/calendar to go along
with it.
Stay
tuned for more info!
It
Doesn't Matter Where You've Been. What Matters Is
Where You're Going and How You'll Get There
That's what coaching is in a nutshell. It's about
helping you get from "where
you are" to "where you want to be".
What
if you're not quite sure what you want? Coaching
can help with that too. Through a series of questions
and exercises, you can get a clear vision and direction
for your life.
